One of UCLy’s specificities is its French Language and Culture Institute (ILCF) which is exclusiveley dedicated to teaching French as a Foreign Language. In addition to developing your French skills in classroom situations, you’ll also learn about all that French culture has to offer during field trips and cultural activities! Don’t hesitate to ask us and your contact person at your universit’s International Relations Office for more information about the particulars of ILCF’s program.

What’s Included in Our Programs:
Exchange programs at UCLy allow international students to take classes in a specific field of study, and access courses from other disciplines. Students also have the opportunity to improve their French skills with French lessons several hours a week.
UCLy pays particular attention to the needs of international students who are doing part or all of their studies at one of its schools or institutes. In order to ensure that they are warmly welcomed, to enable them to feel at home as quickly and as More effortlessly as possible and to create a climate of cultural exchange beneficial to the entire university, UCLy is strongly committed:
•To respond quickly to requests for information from international students, by giving explicit answers easily understandable to people of different cultural origins.
•To offer personal attention to students when they arrive, and to spend as much time as necessary to assist them with the material aspects of their arrival in Lyon, and the practicalities of joining the schools and institutes where they will be studying.
•To give them the chance to express and share their own cultural and spiritual identity and to encourage them to serve on the various representative bodies that are in charge of student •To help international students with administrative formalities both inside and outside the university. One way of doing this is to identify staff members and French students who can give personalised assistance.
